Services
Bespoke assessment and therapy, built around each child.
The first appointment is always in my home-based studio in Marden. After that, therapy continues either in the studio or, where it's the right thing for your child, in their education setting.
Getting started
How do I start my child's journey?
Free telephone consultation
I will have an initial 15 minute free consultation over the phone with you.
We will talk about your child's strengths and needs, and I will give you general recommendations for next steps.
Initial assessment
I will spend 1 – 1.5 hours with you and your child. During the assessment, I will:
- Take a detailed case history from a parent or carer
- Observe and engage your child in play
- Carry out formal and/or informal assessment
- Provide verbal feedback to you before you leave
- Talk about next steps

After the assessment
What comes next?
Not every child needs the same thing. After the initial assessment I'll recommend whichever of these actually fits.
Direct therapy
Once your child has been seen for an initial assessment, I can see them for therapy sessions.
I normally see children for 45 minute sessions. This includes direct therapy with your child and discussion time with you.
Therapy programme
Sometimes the assessment shows a child doesn't need direct therapy. Instead I can write a programme to be carried out at home or at school. It includes:
- Dedicated time to write a programme and prepare resources individualised to your child
- A demo session showing supporting adults how to carry out the activities
- Time during the demo to answer any questions
- A review session at the end to assess progress
Assessment report
I can write a report, if you need one, for an additional cost following the initial assessment. It would include:
- Summary of background and pertinent information
- Summary of observed strengths and needs across speech, language and communication
- Summary of informal and/or formal assessment
- Recommendations
