Services
Chatty Sprouts Speech and Language Therapy offers bespoke assessment and therapy according to the needs of each child.
Assessments are carried out within my home-based studio in Marden and therapy can be delivered in the studio, within the child’s education setting or in the child’s own home.
How do I start my child’s journey?
Free Telephone Consultation
I will have an initial 15 minute free consultation over the phone with you.
We will talk about your child’s strengths and needs and I will give you general recommendations for next steps.
Initial Assessment
I will spend 1 - 1.5 hours with you and your child during the initial assessment. During the assessment, I will:
Take a detailed case history from a Parent/Carer
Observe and engage the child in play
Carry out formal and/or informal assessment
Provide verbal feedback to Parents/Carers
Talk about next steps
What comes next?
Assessment Report
I can write a report (if you need one) for an additional cost following the initial assessment.
This would include:
Summary of background and pertinent information
Summary of observations of strengths and needs across the domains of Speech, Language and Communication
Summary of informal and/or formal assessment
Recommendations
Direct Therapy
Once a child has been seen for an initial assessment, I can see them for Therapy sessions.
I normally see children for 45 minute sessions. This time includes direct therapy with the child and discussion time with the Parents/Carers.
Therapy Programme
Following an initial assessment, it may be recommended that your child does not require direct therapy.
Instead, I can write a programme of therapy for an additional cost, to be carried out at home or at school.
Purchase of the Programme would include:
Dedicated time from the Speech and Language Therapist to write a programme and prepare resources that are individualised to the child
A demo session with me to show supporting adults how to carry out activities
Opportunities during the demo session to answer any questions
Review session at the end of the programme to assess progress
